Hi, I’m Dr. Dee Strbiak and I am going to be your professor for this course.

I have a psychotherapy private practice in Windsor Colorado and received my Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) from California Southern University in clinical and industrial and organizational psychology, my MA from The University of Northern Colorado in clinical psychology and my BA in industrial and organizational psychology from Metropolitan State College of Denver. I have worked in private psychiatric hospitals and with the military. I helped close U.S. Army Garrison Fitzsimons in Aurora, Colorado, and then moved into full private practice after that.

I have worked in the chemical dependency field, trauma field, and workplace violence area for over 33 years. In addition to teaching on campus and online, I develop curriculum and training workshops and work with private therapy clients. I was the director of a DUI treatment agency for over 25 years, in which clients are court-ordered to attend treatment due to a drinking and driving offense. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a certified addiction specialist, and a Diplomat with the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress.

I am an accomplished woodturner and artist and currently working on a book for new therapists. Looking forward to working with each of you and sharing my experiences and knowledge in the psychology field.
