Financial Aid for Graduate Students

Your eligibility for financial aid is determined by applying for financial aid via the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Financial aid packages may include federal student loans or federal grants if you qualify. To be eligible to receive financial aid from AIC, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be accepted for admission to AIC as a regular student working toward a degree
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Meet satisfactory academic progress requirements set by the College
  • Register with Selective Service, if required
  • Be free from default on a previous student loan or refund obligation to a federal student grant program

Depending on your program of study, you may be eligible to receive federal student loans for as few as 3-6 credits per semester.

Financial Aid Application Process

To be considered for financial aid, you must first file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). American International College’s code is 002114. Please review your FAFSA for accuracy before submitting it.

Types of Financial Aid for Graduate Students

This federal loan is available to students who do not qualify on the basis of need. Students are charged interest from the time the loan is disbursed until it is paid in full. The interest rate is set annually. If students choose to let the interest accrue while in school or during other periods of nonpayment, it will be capitalized, meaning that the interest will be added to the principle of the loan. Repayment begins six months after student borrowers are no longer enrolled at least half-time.
