Biography:
Dr. Kendra Matott is an adjunct professor in graduate studies at American International College and an alumna of the institution. She earned both her Master of Science in Forensic Psychology and her Doctor of Education in Educational Psychology (Clinical Track) from AIC. Originally from Western Massachusetts, Dr. Matott relocated to California following completion of her doctoral degree to oversee a mental health agency serving the Central Valley region.
Specializing in trauma-informed practice, Dr. Matott brings extensive experience from her work in hospitals, institutional settings, crisis residential programs, and community mental health organizations. She has taught psychology and special education courses at American International College since 2011 and recently returned to continue supporting graduate learners. Her professional background informs her teaching with practical perspectives on behavioral health systems and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Dr. Matott’s interests include work in the public health sector and supporting incarcerated or offender populations. She integrates real-world examples into her coursework to help students connect theory with practice. Currently based in Northern California, she continues to explore issues related to behavioral health, community services, and life transitions while balancing professional and personal pursuits.
