Hi! I am Dr. Megan Pollock. I am a licensed psychologist. A little bit about me. I am a mother, wife, dog mom, reptile mom, avid exerciser, and psychologist. I have two sons and I am expecting a third son early in fall 2024. I also volunteer by providing animal care with wolf hybrids. I live in California with my husband, two children (one more coming soon!), three dogs, one chameleon, two turtles, and five pigs.
I have been working in the mental health field for approximately 17 years. I have worked with a variety of ages from young kids to the elderly. My approach to working with patients is holistic and developmental with a grounding in evidence-based treatments. Here are some specifics about my training background:
- I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University (APA-accredited) in Fresno, California.
- I completed most of my doctoral clinical training at the US Department of Veterans Affairs, including a two-year practicum training at outpatient clinics of Greater Los Angeles VA, an APPIC doctoral internship (residential and outpatient care) at the Cheyenne VA Medical Center, and an APA-accredited postdoctoral specialty fellowship in psychotic disorders and dissemination of evidenced-based treatments at the San Diego VA/UCSD program.
- I have extensive training in evidence-based practices. I am certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD, Social Skills Training (SST) for Schizophrenia, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), as well as formal training in Prolonged Exposure (PE) for PTSD, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis (CBT-p), Cognitive Behavioral Social Skills Training (CBSST) for Schizophrenia, Child-Centered Play Therapy, and Exposure and Response Prevention Training (ERP) for OCD. I am trained in completing violence risk evaluations using the HCR-20v3 and START.
These days, I work full-time in private practice as a sole proprietor, mostly via telehealth and some ecotherapy (outdoor therapy). I am licensed in California, Montana, and Wyoming.
