Biography:
Dr. Tara Woods is an AIC alumna who earned her Ed.D. in Mental Health Counseling and her M.S. in Forensic Psychology from American International College. She has worked as a mental health counselor in multiple behavioral health settings, including inpatient psychiatric and substance use treatment across inpatient, residential, and outpatient programs.
Dr. Woods serves as an adjunct professor at AIC, where she has taught courses focused on group counseling, in addition to her full-time role as Director of Student Health Promotion and Prevention Services. In this role, she educates the campus community on a range of behavioral health topics. Dr. Woods is passionate about normalizing conversations around wellness and empowering students to build self-efficacy, resilience, and other skills that support student success.
